Wait, is this Part III, or Part IV? I’m already losing count.
Anyway, this video helps to explain the third tab in StepRep, the one marked “Referrals and Quotes”. These functions are still a couple months away, but the video should give you a pretty good idea where the product is headed.

That is a terrible business model. $100 for a referral. As an interior painter I would not pay $10 for a customer referral until I ahve been paid by that customer.
The internet is meant to be “FREE”. Until this service is 100% free it is going to die a slow death.

Re Doug’s comment above. Obviously the cartoon has failed to make the referral model clear.
Doug writes, “as an interior painter I would not pay $10 for a customer referral until I have been paid by that customer”. That’s a perfectly sensible opinion and that’s exactly how StepRep will operate. We don’t get a dime until you get a dollar in your pocket. If no transaction is made – if you don’t get an actual, paying customer out of it – we get nothing.
But I’m grateful to Doug for raising this. It’s good to hear back from people and see where the message is failing to get across. Today I’m going to work on a longer blog post explaining the referral model in greater detail.

As promised, here’s a new blog post where I talk in a bit more detail about the referral model:
